How Short Are the Load Times in Rune Factory Oceans?
Come and see for yourself!

You may have heard a few things about Marvelous' Rune Factory Oceans by now. Following the game's announcement, the developers have stated they hoped to get the game's load times down to almost nothing - and the video they've released proves they're going to be able to deliver on that. While the video below is from the Wii version, producer Yoshifumi Hashimoto states the PlayStation 3 version will have comparable speed.

All this talk of loading aside, Rune Factory Oceans of course still has its roots (that's not a pun; I wouldn't sink that low) in farming sims. As you travel the world on the back of your giant companion Ymir, your farming takes place on the various islands he lifts out of the water, and you can travel between them when Ymir is set to auto-walk.

And finally, in relation to nothing else revealed here, Hashimoto wanted fans to know the game will include bath scenes. As if farming, world-traveling, dating, dungeon-diving and town festivals weren't enough content yet.

Rune Factory Oceans releases in Japan on both the PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii on February 24th, for 7140 yen.
