A Few New Rune Factory Oceans Details
It just wouldn't be a fantasy Harvest Moon if you couldn't get married.

Announced just weeks ago, Rune Factory Oceans is already sounding pretty interesting. Famitsu provided a few more details in their pages this week, and it looks like even though your character is both male (Azel) and female (Sonia), he (or she) still has marriage potential. So far, there are three candidates in this area: James, a trader whose business is never doing very well, and he is rather dependent on his younger sister; Sarah, a store owner who is very friendly; and Electra, whose family is having money problems.

Like more and more games as of late, you will also be able to raise monsters and have them fight in battle alongside you. But it's not like you can catch them in Pokéballs like Pokémon, or negotiate with them like the Shin Megami Tensei series - no, you just brush their fur with a comb and they apparently take a liking to you.

When the game was announced, we mentioned that you travel through Rune Factory Oceans' er.. oceans on the back of a giant named Ymir, and that he can uproot islands, help you discover new lands and such. Born from a seed, Ymir listens to whoever planted the seed he was born from and as it turns out, he'll get his name from Sonia. While travelling, you'll occasionally encounter other giants who'll engage in battle with you, where you'll be able to control Ymir directly. Among other things he can punch, throw boulders and even have his own finishing moves. What does a giant's finishing move look like? We're curious too.

Rune Factory Oceans for both PlayStation 3 and Wii will be out in Japan on February 24th. No North American release date has been set, but if you need something to tide you over, don't forget that Rune Factory 3 for the DS is in stores next week!
