Game Freak Cancels Launch Event for Pokemon Sword & Shield in Tokyo
"Operational reasons" are behind the event's cancellation.

In an unfortunate turn of events, Game Freak has cancelled a planned launch event for Pokémon Sword and Shield in Tokyo. The company announced the cancellation via Twitter, citing unspecified "operational reasons". Originally, Junichi Masuda and Shigeru Ohmori were both scheduled to attend the event, so it's doubly strange for Game Freak to shelve the event with little notice.
Hopefully, the lead-up to the eighth generation of Pokémon doesn't have any more hitches!
Pokémon Sword and Shield are scheduled for release on November 15th for Nintendo Switch.
