Dragon Quest Builders 2 recently launched for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in July, receiving critical acclaim (we liked it!) and offering another delightful building experience for fans. However, now that development on the game is complete, it seems that Builders 2's director, Kazuya Niinou, has left Square Enix.
According to Niinou: "With development on Builders 2 completed, I have left Square Enix. To Naoki Yoshida, Noriyoshi Fujimoto, Takuma Shiraishi, all of my colleagues, and everyone who enjoyed the games I made, thank you so much! I truly appreciate your support. I have been at Square Enix for about seven years now (my longest yet!). I felt a little burned out with Builders 2 and wanted to try out a development cycle different from Square Enix, so I set out for a new development environment."
In other Dragon Quest Builders 2 news, the final free update for the game recently came out, and it includes a bunch of nifty additions. This includes new epilogue content for several characters, an increased number of save slots, and more. You can find a full list below.
