Hello, dear readers, and welcome to the latest installment of Coming This Week! Can you believe it's already August? We're nearing the end of the summer season, so make sure to get out and appreciate the warmth and sunlight while you still can. Or, you know, draw the shades and play some good video games. I don't know; I'm not your mom! Anyway, we've got a pretty great selection of new game releases this time around, and a lot of them are on the Switch. Let's get started.

UPDATE 8/7/19: We originally included the Switch release of Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition in this week's list based on ship dates we'd heard from several sources. After this article was written, THQ Nordic confirmed that the game will indeed be coming to Switch soon, but on September 26th. We apologize for the error.

Fatal Twelve - August 8th (PS4)

If you're looking to dive into an engrossing visual novel, then Fatal Twelve might be just the ticket. This game, which came out last year on PC, was developed by aiueoKompany and published by Sekai Project. It's another story of a life-or-death game, but with a unique twist on the proceedings: those involved are already dead. To say any more would be a disservice: if you really want to know more beyond a wholehearted "yes, go play this," then Pat Gann has the inside skinny with his review. Fatal Twelve will be available on PlayStation 4 this Thursday.

Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition - August 8th (Switch)

Following a successful Kickstarter campaign, Obsidian Entertainment launched themselves back into the CRPG genre with a bang when Pillars of Eternity came out. With a sequel under its belt and more promising-looking titles on the horizon, the future is bright for Obsidian, which means there's all the more reason to catch up on their catalog. Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition brings all of the original adventure and the White March expansions to Nintendo Switch on August 8th. For more info, be sure to read our review.

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet Complete Edition - August 9th (Switch)

Are you a fan of Sword Art Online? Specifically the Gun Gale Online story arc? Are you willing to put up with a bit of janky game design so you can hang out with your favorite anime characters? Well, you might want to get that looked at, because odds are you may suffer from anime addiction. Nah, I'm just playing. Continuing the tradition of Sword Art Online video games coming to Switch, Fatal Bullet is getting a definitive release this Friday that puts all of the game's content into one snazzy package. If you want to know our thoughts on the original release, fellow anime fan Nathan Lee has the scoop with his review.

...and that's a wrap, folks! Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go finish my binge-watch of Evangelion before moving on to Angel Beats because that show is a) back on Netflix, and b) criminally underrated. Hey, I didn't say I wasn't a massive hypocrite! Take care, and we'll see you next time.
