Original Yo-kai Watch Confirmed for Switch Release
Coming this October in Japan!
After a mysterious announcement made by their official virtual YouTuber, Dennoji Reto, Level-5 has finally given a solid confirmation that the original Yo-kai Watch will be releasing on Nintendo Switch later this year in Japan on October 10th. Titled Yo-kai Watch 1, this upgraded 3DS classic packs fully upgraded HD visuals and will also be compatible with the Yo-kai Art and DX Yo-kai Seiken line of interactive toys via the Switch's built-in NFC reader technology.
Players who purchase the digital or physical edition of Yo-kai Watch 1 will receive a special download code for Yo-kai Watch 4 which will allow them to befriend Chairman McKraken, known in Japan as Ikakamone-gicho.
It will be interesting to see how this over six-year-old release will hold up on current hardware, but fans of the series will surely be excited to take a stroll down memory lane on their Nintendo Switch when Yo-kai Watch 1 lands in Japan this October.
