Lots of Kickstarter backers and Metroidvania fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of Koji Igarashi's Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. To say the road has been rocky is a bit of an understatement, but four years after Iga launched the Kickstarter, and we finally have his spiritual successor to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night!

Between the game's announcement and its release, the Metroidvania genre has boomed in the Indie scene, so how does Bloodstained fare against these?
