Coming This Week, 6/24/19
The night is still young...
06.24.19 - 10:51 PM

Summer is now upon us, which means a lot of time spent indoors with the shades drawn and the A/C cranked up, playing video games. That's what you do in the summertime, right? Well, regardless, let's dive into what's coming this week, starting with...

Heavy Rain - June 24th (Windows)

Hey, PC gamers. Do you like quick time events? Quirky murder mysteries that read like David Lynch had a bad trip and wound up hiring Tommy Wiseau as a script doctor? Well, boy howdy, do I have the game for you. Quantic Dream's murder mystery adventure game may have debuted as a PlayStation 3 exclusive, but has since been ported to the PlayStation 4 and now Windows PCs. Now, more people than ever can experience the wonder of "pressing X to Jason"... or, will that be "Spacebar to Jason?" "Shift key to Jason?" Press Enter to Jason?" Hm. Kidding aside, this game is weird, and if you've missed it before now, it's worth checking out on PC. If you want to know if it's the game for you, check out our PS3 review.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night - June 25th (Switch)

Did you hear? Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night came out! And it's good! Like, really good! We covered Koji Igarashi's triumphant return to the Metroidvania genre last week, but it's coming out on the Switch this week, so... a good opportunity to double-dip, no? Keep an eye on RPGFan for more coverage of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Judgment - June 25th (PS4)

Another game we covered last week, and another one that bears repeating. Judgment came out early for those who preordered the game digitally, but will be available as a physical copy for everybody else on the 25th. This game offers a great entry point for those curious about the increasingly-popular Yakuza franchise, hailing from the same studio and set in the same fictitious district of Japan. Check out our preview from E3 2019 for more information. Watch for a full review very soon, as well.

Super Neptunia RPG - June 25th (PS4, Switch)

Getting a little bit of déejà vu? Can't say that I blame you, but hey, here's another game that came out a little early last week. The Windows version of Super Neptunia RPG may have come out on the 20th, but console players can look forward to diving into this 2D-styled adventure on the 25th. It's Neptunia like you've never seen it before, offering a fresh take on the property. Keep an eye out for a review in the near future.

Final Fantasy XIV Shadowbringers Screenshot

Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers (Early Access) - June 28th (Windows, Mac, PS4)

Lastly, if you were a good little boy or girl who preordered Final Fantasy XIV's latest expansion, Shadowbringers, then The Warrior of Darkness will descend upon you and leave presents on your hard drive. Well, one present to be exact: early access to the game! Preorder early access for Shadowbringers begins on June 28th, allowing the most diehard Final Fantasy XIV fans to begin this latest adventure. Who knows, you might see some of us along your travels...

...and that's a wrap, folks! A little bit of a "rinse-and-repeat" from last week, but still, lots of great games to keep you occupied during these summer days. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go and polish my comically oversized greatsword to get in the Shadowbringers mood. Stay classy and we'll see you next time, dear reader.
