Coming This Week, 6/17/19
Another E3 has come and gone. 06.17.19 - 3:44 PM It's another quiet week for new game releases in the aftermath of E3 2019 as developers get back to work and journalists recuperate from the event. But there are still a couple gems to be found, including one that has been hotly anticipated ever since it was announced. So let's get into what's coming this week. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night - June 18th (PS4, XB1, Windows) Its finally time, Castlevania fans. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, which was Kickstarted by Koji Igarashi many years ago, is finally set to release on Windows PCs, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on Tuesday the 18th (with the Nintendo Switch version slated for the 25th). The game looks incredibly promising after its lengthy development cycle and hopefully will serve as a worthy inheritor of the Igavania legacy. We'll almost certainly have more coverage of Bloodstained after its release, so stay tuned. Citizens of Space - June 18th (PS4, XB1, Switch, Windows) Another game coming out on Tuesday is Citizens of Space, a follow-up to the Earthbound-inspired Citizens of Earth. Earthbound certainly has had quite an influence on the modern gaming scene, no? In Citizens of Space, players are tasked with recruiting citizens from all over the galaxy in order to save planet Earth and salvage your job as Ambassador. It looks like kooky, goofy fun, so if you're into that, be sure to give Citizens of Space a whirl on your platform of choice. Super Neptunia RPG - June 20th (Windows) For Steam users, Super Neptunia RPG is available this Thursday. Enjoy the beautiful artwork and a slightly new spin on the Neptunia formula. This title was available to preview at E3 as well, so watch for our coverage of that plus an upcoming review soon! It's the first installment of the franchise developed outside Japan, so be sure to check it out. Judgment - June 21st (PS4) Okay, so this one isn't technically out this week, but if you happened to preorder the digital version of Judgment on PlayStation 4, then you'll be able to access it a little early. Judgment is the latest game from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, the creators of the Yakuza series, and offers a fresh look at Kamurocho. Even though there was some controversy along the way following the arrest of Japanese actor Pierre Taki, Western fans will be able to get their grubby little mitts on this game soon. And that's a wrap, folks! As always, keep an eye on this space for more RPG coverage; we've got some neat stuff in the works. See you next time!
