Greetings, Arisen. I come bearing a message from King Salbato, ruler of RPGFan. He greets his loyal subjects and bids them investigate the latest offerings from the realm of "video games." What these mysterious words could be referring to, I cannot say, but it seems we have a quest to embark upon. Ready your weapons, Arisen, and I will meet you at the gate before sunrise.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen - April 23rd (Switch)

Whew. Alright, that's enough of that. Dragon's Dogma was one of those games that wasn't exactly an immediate critical darling: being a homogeneous mix of Monster Hunter, Dark Souls, and Shadow of the Colossus as filtered through the lens of Gary Gygax will do that to a game. Still, it managed to garner a cult following, and its expansion, Dark Arisen, addressed a lot of problems with the base game and added even more content. Now, Dragon's Dogma has completed the long voyage to the Nintendo Switch, so if you're a longtime fan looking to take the game on the go, or curious what all the hullabaloo was about, now's your chance to give it a try.

Oh, you can have Travis Touchdown as a pawn in this version. So that's something.

Assassins Creed Odyssey Fate of Atlantis DLC

Assassin's Creed Odyssey: Fate of Atlantis - April 23rd (PS4, XB1, Windows)

Yeah, I'm still having a hard time reconciling the fact that we cover Assassin's Creed on this site now... but hey, that's a me thing. The latest entry in the popular series, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, is getting its latest DLC episode this week. Entitled "Fate of Atlantis," this episode includes gods and monsters from Greek legend, so if you're a mythology buff, this is definitely worth experiencing. And, y'know, Atlantis.

SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech - April 25th (Switch)

Okay, now we're getting somewhere. The SteamWorld games are a charming series of side-scrolling RPGs about steam-powered robots, but the latest spinoff, SteamWorld Quest, is leaping into full-blown RPG territory, complete with a card-based battle system. So if card battling games like Baten Kaitos are your jam, this is definitely worth checking out. SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech will be out this week exclusively on Nintendo Switch. We have an upcoming review of this one scheduled, so stay tuned.

And here's the launch trailer:

And that's a wrap! Tune in next week for... ahem. Prithee, I would bid thee return in seven days' time for another missive from the Lords and Ladies of RPGFan.
