Hello, dear readers, and welcome to another installment of Coming This Week. I'm not going to mince words: this is a surprisingly busy week for RPG releases, and we've got the inside skinny on all of them. Odds are, if you're looking for something new to play, there's a suitable game on offer. Let's get started.

Seminal classic Final Fantasy VII has seen many a re-release in recent years; now Xbox One and Nintendo Switch get in on the iconic adventure of Cloud Strife and his party of misfits. This port is based on the recent Steam/PS4 version of FFVII, which includes a number of enhancements: the ability to fast forward the game, the option to disable random encounters, and a toggle that immediately triggers your characters' Limit Breaks. With that Final Fantasy VII Remake still a long way off, this is a nice way to experience a great RPG anew.

At long last, the final piece of downloadable content for Final Fantasy XV is on its way, meaning we can finally close the book on this tumultuous game (at least, until the tie-in novel comes out: then we can literally close the book on it). Fortunately, it looks like XV is going to go out on a high note. Ardyn was a fascinating character with a delightful vocal performance from Darin De Paul, and getting to see more of his backstory/conniving antics sounds like a real treat. Get ready for a healthy dose of villainy and continuity errors when Episode Ardyn drops on March 26th.

Dubbed by many as "the most ambitious crossover event in history" (okay, not really), Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists brings a number of characters from across the Atelier series and places them in a new game with an increased emphasis on city management. Players will assume the role of Nelke von Lestamm, a noble who has been tasked with rebuilding a frontier town. Since she's no alchemist herself, she will enlist the help of a cadre of returning characters. If city building, alchemy, and a host of super kawaii anime girls sounds like your bag, then be sure to visit the new world when Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists comes out this Tuesday.

Speaking of kawaii anime girls, if you're into that sort of thing, then oh boy, does NIS America have the game for you. While The Princess Guide doesn't feature Cary Elwes in any capacity (at least to my knowledge), it does feature four princesses who need to be trained in the arts of war so that they can better protect their kingdoms. The Princess Guide will release on PS4 and Switch this Tuesday. Watch the RPGFan front page for our upcoming review!

Originally released for the PlayStation 3 and Vita way back when, and later for the PC, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel is finally making its way to the PlayStation 4. This port comes with a number of added enhancements, including additional voiceover lines. If you've missed the boat on the Cold Steel train and are looking for a substantial and rewarding RPG to dig into, then this definitely fits the bill. The saga of The Walking Dead game series comes to a bittersweet end with the release of Episode 4, entitled "Take Us Back." You all probably know the story, but to quickly recap: the famed developer Telltale Games recently shut down, with the publisher of The Walking Dead comic books, Skybound Entertainment, picking up the reigns of the video game series in the aftermath. With a physical release of the entire final season coming out concurrently, gamers everywhere will have the chance to see Clementine's story through to the end. It has been a long road for both the character and the now-defunct Telltale, but I'm glad that there's some degree of closure to be had.

We really should just call March 26th RPG Day at this point. Another popular and rather dark series is becoming more accessible as the Danganronpa Trilogy from Spike Chunsoft arrives on PS4. Danganronpa is a fascinating blend of high school drama, murder mystery, and trial sim, and is it ever full of twists and turns between cases. Retro Enocunter even did spoilerific journals on the first two games, which our staff found very enjoyable. Be the Ultimate Danganronpa Fan...or on second thought, maybe not...and own all three games on this platform.

We recently covered the console release of Deponia Doomsday, and it looks like the series is back again! This time, it's the first game coming to the Switch and Xbox One. See the origin of Deponia's unique garbage world (no, really) and follow the adventures of Rufus as he struggles to make it out of the dump and into the elusive upper reaches of society. This series is a must for anyone in search of a zany game, or one with a less than scrupulous protagonist. Check out the original review while you're at it!
