It was an exciting weekend for cinema goers, who are going higher, faster, and further with certified national treasure Brie Larson. So while I would understand completely if our readers weren't terribly interested in new video games this week (assuming y'all have played Devil May Cry 5 already), the games industry never sleeps, so nor will RPGFan. We've got an interesting adventure game, an improved director's cut of a... curious little title, and more. Let's get started.

Ever wanted to go to Europe? Well, in Trüberbrook, players will assume the role of Hans Tannhauser, an American scientist who has decided to vacation in a remote German village. Set during an alternate version of the 1960s with a decidedly more sci-fi slant, it'll be up to the player to solve the mysterious goings-on that occur. The game draws inspiration from Twin Peaks and the X-Files, so I know at least one person for whom this fits perfectly! Plus, the game features audio in both English and German, which is a nice touch. The game hits all major computing platforms this week, and comes to PS4, Xbox One, and Switch on April 17th.

So in the beginning, there was The Caligula Effect. It was a promising-sounding RPG for the PlayStation Vita (never forget), with a story by the guy who wrote Persona 2. It also turned out to be hot garbage. Now, The Caligula Effect: Overdose is looking to give the game a second chance to impress, with significant added content and (here's hoping) better optimized performance.

If you're on the fence about Dissidia Final Fantasy NT — and honestly, why wouldn't you be, it was rather ill-advised —, Square Enix has you covered with the forthcoming Free Edition. This Tuesday, players will be able to access the online portion of Dissidia Final Fantasy NT for free, with a rotating character roster. Of course, the option exists to buy your favorites, so if you're really attached to a certain character, a simple purchase will keep them in your roster. Obviously, the correct answer of who to purchase is Zidane, but I won't stop you from making the wrong choice.

From developer Deconstructeam and publisher Devolver Digital, The Red Strings Club is coming to Nintendo Switch this Thursday. This is a cyberpunk adventure about unraveling a corporate conspiracy to brainwash the populace by artificially eradicating negative emotions such as depression and anger. The game looks to provide an examination of what happiness really is and the lengths people will go to in pursuit of it, which sounds fascinating. Plus you get to play as a bartender and do something called "Genetic Implant Pottery," which... look, what I'm getting at is this all sounds very unique. So check it out if you're interested!
