You may have heard that Nintendo finally revealed the new 8th Gen Pokémon game this morning as Pokémon Shield & Pokémon Sword.

As we all know, one of the most important parts of a new Pokémon reveal are the new batch of starters. But first, let's look at the beautiful map of the new Galar region:

Certainly the non-Big Ben portends a cameo by Professor Layton, right? Well, I can dream. Now, let's get on with the starters:

First is the new Grass-type Grookey, perhaps the cutest grass monkey you've yet seen:

Next is the Fire-type Scorbunny, who seems to accidentally set fire to lawns. But who can't relate to that?

And finally, the Water-type Sobble, who seems to be at least partial chameleon, and will no doubt be the subject of countless memes as time goes on, not to mention ... wow, how is there so much fan art already? Thank you, lovely internet artists.
