Next SaGa Game Will Feature Multiple Protagonists, According to Kawazu
Series creator weighs in on SaGa's future. 12.29.18 - 10:12 PM Square Enix's SaGa series is one of the more interesting JRPG franchises on the market, with unique mechanics and multifaceted storylines. It appears that series creator Akitoshi Kawazu has something SaGa-related in store following the release of the latest entry, Scarlet Grace: in a thread on Twitter, Kawazu addressed whether or not future SaGa games would feature multiple protagonists. "The next one will also have multiple protagonists," confirms Kawazu, "though I think it will take a different form from SaGa: Scarlet Grace. Please look forward to it. I wonder if it's OK to say that?" So, there you have it. Oddly enough, the Tweet that Kawazu-san was replying to was specifically asking for there to not be multiple protagonists in the next SaGa game, which is funny considering that it's kind of a core tenet of the franchise. Regardless of the Internet's odd foibles, it appears that something SaGa-related is at least being considered over at Square. Stay tuned to RPGFan for more information.
