Telltale Games Issues Statement Regarding Conclusion of The Walking Dead: The Final Season
Plus, a statement from Clementine's voice actress. 09.25.18 - 12:21 AM In case you missed it, the acclaimed adventure game studio Telltale Games has begun the process of shutting down due to financial difficulties, laying off over 250 employees in the process. The company is reported to be keeping on a skeleton crew of team members to finish prior obligations before shutting its doors for good. One thing that was left unclear in the immediate wake of the announcement was the fate of the final season of The Walking Dead, which could very well be ending prematurely before its four-episode run was up. However, Telltale today issued a statement suggesting that the series could still conclude "in some form," albeit with outside help. — Telltale Games (@telltalegames) September 24, 2018 While this is promising news for fans of The Walking Dead series, it's unfortunate that so many developers who lost their jobs in the wake of the studio's closure likely won't see the end result of their hard work (or see any compensation thereof). Hopefully, some form of recompense can be arranged (at the very least, providing terminated employees with severance pay). The voice actress for series protagonist Clementine, Melissa Hutchison, also released a statement regarding the closure of Telltale. You can read her message below.
We'll keep you posted on any further updates regarding Telltale Games or The Walking Dead.
