New Info from TGS 2018 About Kingdom Hearts III's Aqua Fight, Gummi Ships, and More
What comes next for this series? 09.22.18 - 10:17 PM During a stage event at this year's Tokyo Game Show, Square Enix showed off some new gameplay footage of the highly anticipated Kingdom Hearts III. This footage, which you can check out below (it's around the 32 minute mark), shows a battle between fan-favorite character Aqua and series protagonist Sora. Square also provided some additional details on the game. While we have long known that Kingdom Hearts III marks the end of the "Xehanort Saga," director Tetsuya Nomura hopes to "continue Sora's story," and the series will carry on. The team is looking to include a secret ending video (something that has become something of a series tradition), but in order to avoid spoiling the audience, they're looking for alternative ways to implement it, perhaps even patching it in after the fact. Other stuff, like online elements, are being considered for after release. There will be more than 20 mini-games for players to enjoy in Kingdom Hearts III. Of course, Gummi Ships are making a return in this entry, and they will be playable in two modes. Exploration Mode allows players to explore a spacious "open-world" cosmic space in their ship, while Cardboard Mode has various collectibles for Gummi Ship customization. Stay tuned to RPGFan for more info on Kingdom Hearts III. The game launches for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 29th.
