Sony Announces PlayStation Classic Miniature Console, Includes Final Fantasy VII and Wild Arms
Ever following in Nintendo's footsteps. 09.19.18 - 10:50 PM Never one to let a passing trend go to waste, Sony has announced the PlayStation Classic, a new miniature PS1 console that will include 20 of the system's most beloved games and render them in glorious high-definition. The system is set to release on December 3rd (in accordance with the PlayStation's original release date), and will retail for $99.99 USD. What makes this announcement noteworthy for RPG fans is that, of the five games Sony announced as being included on the PlayStation Classic (which includes Tekken 3, Jumping Flash, and R4: Ridge Racer Type 4), two of them are RPGs: Final Fantasy VII and Wild Arms. Both of these titles are already available on the PlayStation Network, and Final Fantasy VII has seen numerous re-releases across multiple platforms, but still, they are both excellent games and worthy inclusions in this collection. In all honesty, 20 games seems a bit light for a system with as many classics as the PlayStation... still, rest assured that if more RPGs announced for the PlayStation Classic, we'll let you know. So stay tuned!
