Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Delayed to 2019, Vita Version Cancelled
What a horrible night to have a curse... 08.20.18 - 9:10 PM Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night's release date has been pushed back to 2019, according to an update on the game's Kickstarter page. In addition, the PlayStation Vita version of the game has been scrapped, with director Koji Igarashi citing "Sony's plans to discontinue the Vita console." Developer 505 Games' Global Brand Manager, Robert Piraino, also apologized for the inconvenience to backers, while stressing the necessity of the decision from a business perspective. "Being a huge PlayStation and Sony fan myself, I also know cancelling the Vita version of the game may be disappointing to some of you, but with Sony's plans to discontinue the console and physical production of games, removing Vita titles from PS+ lineups etc., it was an unfortunate but necessary decision to make," says Piraino. "We really hope you'll continue to support us on one of the other platforms available." Vita backers will have a chance to either receive a different version of the game, or have their money refunded. This process will be handled vis Fangamer, who will be emailing affected backers with further instructions. You can watch the video update from 505 Games down below. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will still be coming out on PS4, XB1, Switch, and PC some time in 2019.
