We here at RPGFan are big proponents of "the backlog." You know, that ever-expanding pile of games on your shelf that you'll totally play at some point, absolutely... eventually. For instance, I'm just now catching up on Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom, while Xenoblade Chronicles 2 languishes on my bookcase, begging to be played. Your turn will come... sometime.
Alas, it is the solemn duty of the RPGFan news staff to bring you up to speed on upcoming releases, so you can know exactly when your wallet will be demolished and your shelf increasingly burdened. This week was no exception: with news from Gino DiGioia, Keegan Lee, John Alas, and Tyler Trosper, there's a lot to look forward to on the horizon. We also have a music review from Adam Luhrs, and a review from none other than Rob Steinman (yes, that one!). So let's get into this latest edition of Week in Review so we know what video games we can look forward to playing... at some point in the future.

You know what people love? Persona. But do you know what people really love? Persona 3 Portable's female main character. Yes, the FeMC is making a comeback in Persona Q2, and she'll be a central focus in the story which also heavily involves Persona 5's Phantom Thieves exploring a demented world of movies. Octopath Traveler has been blowing up in sales on the Nintendo Switch, but one can't help but wonder: what of the Bravely series? Bravely Default and Bravely Second found great success on the 3DS, but there's so much potential to be had with a new game. This fall is absolutely packed with RPG releases, and now you can add another game to the list: the Nintendo Switch version of DS cult classic The World Ends With You. As Gino so eloquently put it, we don't cover Super Smash Bros. at RPGFan... unless given an excuse to do so by the sheer number of RPG characters present in the game. We bent the rules once back at E3 2018, and now we're doing it again, because gosh darn it, we're just all so excited for this game.
