You're off the edge of the map now; here, there be monsters! 08.06.18 - 3:13 PM It's that time again, dear readers: the time of week where we take a deep dive into a slate of upcoming releases. This week is a doozy: not only is Monster Hunter: World finally making its way to PC, there are a couple other exciting releases as well, including a well-regarded cult classic. So, in the immortal words of Phillip DeFranco, let's just jump into it! Dead Cells - PS4, XB1, Switch, PC (August 7th) After a long period in Early Access, the roguelike Metroidvania title Dead Cells is finally getting a full release on PC and console. This game has been incredibly well-received even in its unfinished state, and with the full release imminent, even more people can experience this procedurally generated adventure. Even in a crowded market for these kinds of Metroidvania games, Dead Cells is one you shouldn't miss. Monster Hunter: World - PC (August 9th) Monster Hunter fans have been savoring the hunt on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for months now, but it's finally time for PC gamers to get in on the action. Travel to the New World, sharpen your greatsword, and go fight some beasties in this epic evolution of the Monster Hunter formula. If you'd like to know more, you can read our review of the game. Okami HD - Switch (August 9th) Beloved by many, Okami was one of the last titles to come out of the now-defunct Clover Studios. This epic Zelda-like adventure through a painterly representation of ancient Japan has already seen re-releases for the Wii, PlayStation 3, and current-gen consoles, but the Nintendo Switch is finally getting in on the action. In a few days, you'll be able to take Amaterasu's stunning journey with you wherever you go. And that's a wrap for this week! Between Dead Cells, Monster Hunter, and Okami, there's a lot of exciting stuff on the horizon. As always, check back with RPGFan for continued RPG coverage.
