What to expect from this deadly adventure.

FuRyu recently updated the official website for their upcoming Gemdrops-developed action-RPG, Crystar. With the update came several new screenshots and pieces of artwork, which you can check out in our updated gallery, as well as some new details on the game's world.
In order to find her sister, who died by protagonist Rei's own hand, she must traverse the realm of Limbo, acting as an agent for the devils Mephis and Pheles. The agent, or proxy's, duty is to deal with the spirits and ghosts that dwell in Limbo, as well as collect the crystalline "Ideas" that form there. Agents are also able to wield the transformative powers of Guardians, which are a type of Idea.
For unknown reasons, Rei is confined to her room when in reality: she uses a special mirror to enter the other realm. Her only companion is her dog Selma, who is Best Anime Dog.
The difference between Souls, Ghosts, and Spirits was also outlined in the update. Souls are just that: the souls of dead people, wandering limbo in the form of spectral butterflies. They are able to engage in limited conversation, but have no sense of self anymore. Spirits are missing something in their souls, which causes them to develop self-awareness and to behave aggressively. They are unable to communicate verbally. Lastly, Ghosts have self-awareness and are able to speak, not to mention have a strong desire to return to life. They aim to accomplish this by sucking the souls out of other Ghosts and living beings.
Crystar will release for PlayStation 4 on October 18th in Japan. Check back with RPGFan for more details as they become available!
