Octopath Weekend!!!
07.14.18 - 9:43 PM

Octopath Traveler is finally here, and it's ever so lovely that it releases on a Friday so that we can enjoy our weekend playing it. I know I can't wait to finally play it, as everything I see of it reminds me more and more of SaGa Frontier (which is a personal favorite of mine). And don't forget, you can check out our blind playthrough of Octopath over on our Twitch channel starting this Sunday. But that's not all that came out this week. We also have news stories from Peter Triezenberg and Gino DiGioia and a review from Neal Chandran!

It took 5 years, but the kickstarted Metroidvania game Chasm is finally getting released. Now when it comes to Kickstarter games, "finally getting released" doesn't necessarily mean it will be good, but from everything we have seen it looks like it will be as advertised. Worst comes to worst, it holds you over until Bloodstained comes out later this year.

Rinoa is joining the cast of Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, and she is bringing her trusted companion with her. No, not Squall, it's her adorable dog, Angelo! He is such a good boy being launched like a rocket at your opponent and doing other fantastic dog stuff. Fair warning, though...I don't want to see anyone attacking Angelo ever. He is a good boy and just wants to deplete your Brave, so you let him!

Review by Neal Chandran

Episodic content often comes with its own baggage, even though it seems like a great idea most of the time. You can try a part of the game or series for less then a full game and play the rest of the episodes when they come out if you like it. Neal Chandran reviewed the first episode of Echoes of the Fey last July, and now he has a review of Episode 2 for you this July. So check out Neal's review to see if Episode 2 holds up and is worth your time.

Darksiders III has a release date set for later this year, and I know one person on staff who is absolutely overjoyed to see one of his favorite series being continued. They are truly fun games that are worth your time. But don't take my word for it. Peter can give you all the information you need about Darksiders, along with its soon to be third installment. So many good games are coming out this year!

Zanki Zero is one of those games I am really looking forward to. It seems so weird and quirky...and right up my alley. It also helps when you know the people behind Danganronpa are developing it, so there is a good chance it's going to be a fun murder mystery game. The best thing is that even before its Japanese release, we are getting an announcement that it's coming to the west in Spring of 2019. Can't wait!
