And not a Belmont in sight.

Dante and Nero weren't the only demon killers at E3 this year! Koji Igarashi's Kickstarter project Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is getting ever closer. While backers of the project will have their hands on a demo soon, we got a taste of what the spiritual successor to Castlevania has in store for us.

For many, this has been one of the most high profile and anticipated Kickstarters, and after the disappointment of Mighty No. 9 and Yooka-Laylee, those harking back to the good old days will be hoping third time's the charm with this one.

Having played through the first level of the game, we're pretty confident this will surpass many people's expectations. It plays like a great Castlevania game, and has its own visual flair to boot. Miriam is pretty cool too. But don't take it from me, check out Liz Maas' Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night preview. Let's hope it makes its 2018 release date, because I'm not sure how much longer I can wait after reading that!
