E3 2018: Cyberpunk 2077 Preview & Impressions
Finally.
06.22.18 - 12:44 PM

It's easy to lose track of when games get announced sometimes. For instance, it's become quite en vogue to critique Square Enix: Kingdom Hearts III was announced in 2013, and is coming in early 2019. Salacious! Irresponsible! How dare they! Etc.

Meanwhile, CD Projekt RED announced Cyberpunk 2077 in 2012 and people seem fine waiting for that one. In fact, it wasn't until this month at E3 where we got a real look at the game, beyond the early (and stunning) concept art we've been seeing for years. Visually, the game seems to have shifted in tone from what we've seen before, but hot damn, what the game has turned into is looking incredible:

So let's put aside my complaints about double standards, and check out the game. CDPR has been strict about releasing information on Cyberpunk 2077, as witnessed by limiting gameplay footage to only those behind closed doors at E3. And since our news editor Trent Argirov was the only person we could send to witness the game, he has some extensive impressions of what he saw written up. Go. Read. Get hyped. Hopefully CDPR will release this lengthy gameplay footage for everyone to see soon.

Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, but we don't yet know when. (2019 please?)
