Coming This Week, 5/21/18
The only article where you farm, die, and create a robot uprising in the same week. 05.21.18 - 6:16 PM Hello, RPGFanners. Your friendly neighborhood RPGNewser, Gino, is here with this week's releases. Do we have good stuff this week? And will the article actually keep on topic for once? Well, let's jump in and find out. Stardew Valley - PSVita (May 22nd) Hello, Stardew Valley. When I heard you were coming to Vita, I was a little surprised. Even made a joke about it last week. Though, it is really so surprising that a simulation game with the ability to farm, build relationships, and live off the land is getting released? Well, I can still be surprised its coming out on Vita. Check out our gallery and review. Bloodstained: Circle of the Moon - PS4, PSVita, XB1, Switch, 3DS, PC (May 24th) Wasn't this game just announced? What about Ritual of the Night? Actually, this was the promised retro-style game from the original Bloodstained: ROTN Kickstarter. And man, is it retro: this looked like if Super Castlevania was being emulated on a modern console. Doesn't help that is has a similar subtitle to another Castlevania game. Well, backers of Bloodstained will get a code for the game this week. Everyone else can pick up the game on every modern console this Thursday. Check out our gallery. Dark Souls: Remastered - PS4, XB1, PC (May 25th) It's hard to be a hardcore gamer nowadays and not hear of Dark Souls. This game was so well known for its harsh difficulty that every game that came after it (and before it) would have its difficulty compared to it. With the Dark Souls Trilogy now finished and people looking at games like Code: Vein for their difficulty fix in the future, it seemed like a good time to get back into the harsh difficulty with this remaster. Are you prepared to die? Well, the prepare to die edition was delisted, so probably not... but you can check out our gallery and review of the original version to ease your sorrows. Detroit: Become Human - PS4 (May 25th) Quantic Dream and its founder, David Cage, are known for making very story driven games that rely on very basic gameplay to tell a extremely compelling narrative. Heavy Rain is one example of good usage of Quick Time Events and the art of storytelling in gaming. With their next game, Detroit: Become Human, coming out this Friday, it seems that they are ready to blow minds and make us rethink everything we know. Doesn't help that Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux came out last week and it's already doing that for me. Check out our gallery. Well, that's it for this week. Not as much as last week, but still enough to whet your gaming appetite. June and E3 is coming up, so you know what that means. It's time to Duel! I mean, time to wait... That's what I get for listening to Yu-Gi-Oh! music while writing this. As always, please check out RPGFan for the latest and greatest of RPG and Visual Novel coverage.
