Being a gamer to me isn't just sitting down and playing whatever is on the screen. It's investing time into a world that is different from the one I am currently living in. It's not an escape but a respite from the normal tribulations of the modern world. How can I not play these games with our world continuing down the path of Despair? It is for this reason that I pick up my controller and go on these amazing journeys...

Or you know, I could just find the games fun. Nothing complicated about that, right?

Recently graduated from Champlain College with a Degree of Communication, I am an aspiring writer who is trying to evolve from writing unpublished fanfiction with mary sues as main characters. But enough about my Persona X Yugioh stories or my Pokémon X Ace Attorney musings. My time at Champlain wasn't just constant studying... or studying at all... It was me creating connections through gaming.

Overseeing my school's gaming club, I fostered relationships with the games that I brought, and allowed students to experience games they never thought about playing. Though honestly, that is my gaming philosophy in a nutshell. Trying out games that I never think to play. You see basic franchises like Mario and Final Fantasy in my favorites, but I also had time with Hyperdimension Neptunia and Atelier. And while I will need some encouragement to play games like Gal Gun or Sakura Dungeon, they aren't completely off my radar.

While writing, I hope to allow gamers the chance to learn about new games or experiences they never think to try. You like Fire Emblem? Here, look at Luminous Arc or Shining Force. You like Ace Attorney? Here, look at Danganronpa or Zero Escape. You like visual novels, micro-transactions, and really perverted ninjas? Try Moe! Ninja Girls. (Don't ask how I know about that one.) Keeping people up to date about these diverse types of games is why I like writing. (And why I have 500+ games in my backlog...)

As for other interests, I like listening to game music. I like using other people's decks and beating them at Magic the Gathering. I like studying mythology. I like watching some anime. I like doing tabletop RPGs (when I can actually finish a campaign). And I love making bad jokes and puns. Overall, I'm a nerd. But if anyone asks, I'm a scholarly gaming nerd and the best I know. And in the 22 years of being alive, no one has been able to challenge that. And honestly, I doubt anyone will.
