Here's What's Coming in Final Fantasy XIV Patch 4.3: Under the Moonlight
Eorzea, the land that keeps on giving. 04.26.18 - 12:46 PM Final Fantasy XIV Patch 4.3, entitled Under the Moonlight, is set to go live this May, and it brings with it the wealth of new content players have come to expect: new dungeons, trials, weapon enhancements, and storyline quests are all on their way. We have a bevy of new screenshots for you to check out, but for now, let's quickly summarize what's coming in Patch 4.3.
New Alliance Raid – The Ridorana Lighthouse Yes, you read that right: the Ridorana Lighthouse, of Ivalice fame, is making its way to Final Fantasy XIV. Nice! Main Scenario Quests Patch 4.3 is said to wrap up the main scenario events around the Far Eastern land of Doma. This means we might finally learn what's going on with Yotsuyu, among other things. New Dungeon – The Swallow's Compass These days, odd-numbered patches in FFXIV get a single new dungeon, to give the developers room to add other types of content, and avoid the dungeon overload that is present in the early game. This time it's The Swallow's Compass, in the land of Yanxia. Besides the new locale and battles, it's also notable that the gear in this dungeon is inspired by one of FFXIV's many gear design contests, so the sets below were conceived by a fan! The Forbidden Land, Eureka – Pagos Expedition Part of a smaller update coming a little later in the 4.3 cycle, the recently-introduced Eureka will be expanding to a new New Beast Tribe Quests – The Namazu So far, each set of beast tribes have had one group who, instead of combat-based quests, focuses entirely on crafting and gathering, and for Stormblood, this is the role the Namazu will fill. So if your crafters and gatherers aren't yet 70, this is the leveling opportunity you've been waiting for. New Deep Dungeon – 100-Floor Heaven-on-High We've been waiting on news for Stormblood's edition of the Deep Dungeon, and now we know it's coming in 4.3 and set in the infinitely-tall tower, Heaven-on-High. 100 floors of randomly generated challenges, the developers promise things get challenging early on this time around, starting around floor 30. Along with unique challenges and its independent leveling system, progressing will award your main character with EXP, so it's good incentive for leveling from 61-70. Glamour Updates The recent addition of the Glamour Dresser has been a huge help to those of us who hoard gear for their appearances... but the shift to a new system also meant some growing pains. With 4.3, the system is being updated to allow you to remove items from the dresser and restore them to actual items (currently, this is a one-way process). The dresser will also be able to hold a "greater variety" of gear, and more changes are in the works for the future. House Guestbooks The option to add a message board or guestbook to player-owned housing has been a long-standing request amongst the community, and this is finally on its way. You'll be able to add both indoor and outdoor guestbooks, so other players and friends visiting your house can leave you (hopefully) nice messages and comments. FFXIV Companion Mobile App Square Enix also provided some details on the in-development companion app for Final Fantasy XIV. Downloading this mobile app will allow players to chat with their friends, organize events, organize their inventory and armoury chest, browse the Market Board, buy/sell items, and register an additional favored destination Aetheryte. Those who pony up an additional fee can also organize their Saddlebags and Retainer inventories, double the capacity of their Saddlebags, and employ an additional retainer. More information on the companion app will be released by Square Enix in the future.
