Xbox getting some JRPGs? Who would have thought?
04.09.18 - 5:07 PM

Happy Monday, RPGFans. Hope you had a good weekend unless you were at PAX East like me and had a great weekend! Anyways, let's go over this week's releases.

Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs - Royal Edition - PS4 (April 10th) XB1, Switch (April 12th)

Oh, look. A Kickstarter game that actually did well. 2017's Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs will be getting an enhanced Royal Edition with new content and playable characters. Let's hope this Royal Edition fares better than the one that came out in March for a different game. Our review of the PC version gives good precedent for it.

Dark Rose Valkyrie - PC (April 10th)

Just because the game is a Compile Heart game that has a creepy intro with a creepy name doesn't mean it will be bad. In any case, Dark Rose Valkyrie will be making its way to PC with its combination of tactical and visual novel style gameplay. It has a writer and designer from the Tales franchise on its team. That will work right? Right?

Ys Origin - Xbox One (April 11th)

Wow. Never in my wildest dreams would I expect an Ys game of all things making it to Xbox. But we are getting that with Ys Origin. Do I have any complaints of my favorite Ys game on another system? Of course not. If you haven't played this wonderful franchise yet, no more console excuses. Check out our review if you don't believe me.

Burly Men at Sea - Switch (April 12th)

Last but not least, we have the point and click adventure visual novel, Burly Men at Sea. With a focus on folklore, three bearded fisherman step away from their ordinary life to seek adventure. You can live through this game again or for the first time on Switch later this week. Check out our review of the PC version.

That's it for this week. Those heavy hitters I was talking about last week are coming up soon, so stay tuned for those and the best RPG coverage here at RPGFan.
