This week: Lots of reviews! Next week? Even more.
10.20.17 - 8:02 PM

Fall and the upcoming holiday season are one of the busiest times of the year for games, and we are doing our best not to miss a beat with any reviews for your favorite RPGs. This week we posted quite a few reviews, and next week we will have even more. This week we have news stories from Keegan Lee and Peter Triezenberg with reviews from Michael Sollosi and Rob Rogan.

Review by Michael Sollosi

Love it or hate it, South Park has been one of the most popular animated shows running for the past 20 years, and it's only natural for something so big to branch out into other parts of media. After a few terrible attempts in the video game market, they finally got it right with The Stick of Truth and now, the follow up The Fractured but Whole has finally released. The question remains, however, can it measure up to its predecessor? Check out Mike Sollosi's review for the lowdown.

Fire Emblem's Dynasty Warriors-esque Musou game is finally upon on us, and it should be a lot of fun. Of course, it wouldn't be a modern day game release without the announcement of a ton of DLC on top of it. To be fair, the DLC for most Warrior games is fun and brings a lot to the table, even if sometimes you wish it would just be included in the base game if the content is done or nearly done. That said, look forward to our Fire Emblem Warriors review soon!

Star Ocean: The Last Hope is being re-released with 4K support. The good news is this will be the first time a Star Ocean game will be available on PC. The bad news is that it is Star Ocean 4. I'm not sure we needed a "Full HD" version of a game that was already in HD... Square Enix, how about HD ports of the first three Star Ocean titles? Put these ones on the PC, and I'll happily buy them again.

Pillars of Eternity is an awesome game, and now everyone on console can enjoy this fantastic game with its expansions. Typically, talking about a port from PC to consoles, there are bound to be a few issues, but don't let them get in the way of one of the best recent RPGs to be made. Rob Rogan has the full details in his review.

I am still extremely happy that the .hack series is coming back, and any new trailer for this HD collection just makes me even happier. And since this one only focuses on Rebirth, it means that we can expect at least two more trailers before the November 3rd release date.

Review by Rob Rogan

That's right: Rob Rogan got out two huge reviews this week for your reading pleasure, and both games are not small by any stretch of the imagination. If you love dungeon crawling fun, then it's no doubt that you have stepped into the series of Etrian Odyssey. Rob Rogan has all the information you could need on its newest release Etrian Odyssey V.

And that's a wrap for this week. Be sure to check back on the front page for all your RPG news and reviews.
