New Details on Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Revealed in Famitsu Interview
Plus a new story trailer! 10.17.17 - 11:34 AM In an interview with Famitsu magazine, producer Shigeru Ohmori and director Kazumasa Iwao provided some additional information on the upcoming Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon for the Nintendo 3DS, clarifying what fans can expect from this latest installment of the Pokémon series. According to Ohmori and Iwao, players can expect almost double the content in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon over the original Generation VII duology, directly comparing the titles to Platinum version from Generation IV. Junichi Masuda is in charge of supervising the game, and the team was pleased to hear about the positive reception towards new elements in Sun and Moon from fans, such as Z-Moves: however, the team felt that they could do more. While not a "sequel" in the vein of Black 2 and White 2, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon instead offers a "divergent" story from the previous games, in order for fans to experience some variety within the Alola region. The changes made to the scenario focus on the members of the Ultra Expedition Team, who will appear early on so that players can see something new right away. Evidently, the Ultra Expedition Team appeared in Alola through the Ultra Wormhole, and players will eventually use said Wormhole to visit other worlds. Most interestingly, Game Freak confirmed that a new episode will be added to the game after the player enters the Hall of Fame. Game Freak teased that this is how Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon is more akin to Platinum, so perhaps players can expect some sort of Battle Frontier? Another new feature Game Freak elaborated on is the Ultra Warp Ride, where the player uses Solgaleo or Lunala to travel to the Ultra Beast's dimension. Once there, players can encounter Legendary Pokémon from past generations, with Mewtwo being the only one confirmed as of yet. Last, but not least, there's a brand-new English story trailer for Ultra Sun and Moon you can check out below. The games are slated for release on November 17th worldwide.
