Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana Coming to PS4 in Japan This May
May 25th, to be exact. 12.20.16 - 12:12 PM The PlayStation Vita version of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana launched in Japan last July, and now it's the PS4 version's turn. Falcom has announced that the PS4 version will be released on May 25th, 2017, bringing with it a 60 FPS bump, more responsive controls, and visual enhancements. There will also be a new system called "Suppression Battles," where the player can attack an enemy base alongside castaways. In an interview with Dengeki, Falcom President Toshihiro Kondo said that the PlayStation 4 version of the game will be expanding on heroine Dana's role in the game, adding a new system called "Style Change" and a new episode to her Etania Quest in which she rescues a spirit and is able to draw upon its power. In addition to the new content, Kondo promised that the PS4 version would feature faster load times and support 4K resolution. He also mentioned a desire to make a sequel to Tokyo Xanadu, so... make of that what you will. You can find new screenshots for Ys VIII in our gallery. Check back with RPGFan for more details.
