Terra, Aqua, and Ventus are back together, only to be torn apart once more.

Easily the most exciting aspect of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue is the inclusion of a playable chapter entitled 0.2 Birth by Sleep: A Fragmentary Passage (these titles are a bit of a mouthful), which follows Aqua during her time trapped in the Realm of Darkness. Square Enix has released the opening video for A Fragmentary Passage, which you can watch in its entirety below. It's quite the gorgeous and poignant opening, even by Kingdom Hearts standards, as we see Terra, Ventus, and Aqua briefly reunited before being torn apart once again by the machinations of Xehanort.
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue will be released for the PlayStation 4 on January 12th in Japan, and on January 24th in North America and Europe. To read about how A Fragmentary Passage plays, you can read our preview from E3 2016 here.
