Bandai Namco has announced that Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization, the latest action-RPG to be based on the popular Sword Art Online media franchise, will be coming to North America and Europe this fall for PlayStation 4 and Vita, as well as releasing on October 27th in Japan. To celebrate the occasion, they've also released a series of new gameplay videos, which you can check out below, along with a brief synopsis.
Return to Aincrad in this all-new adventure.
"Link start" into Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization, an exciting new action RPG developed under the watchful eye of Sword Art Online creator Reki Kawahara. Kirito receives a single mysterious message — a cryptic "I'm back to Aincrad" — and is drawn once again into a familiar world in which he was once trapped.
Kirito and his friends are pulled into a VRMMORPG called "Sword Art: Origin," a game housed on the same servers that hosted the death-game "Sword Art Online." However this game is not quite the same one he escaped years ago...
Bandai Namco also announced a first-print limited edition for the game in Japan, which will cost 10,980 Yen on PS4 (9,880 on Vita) and comes with a whole host of goodies, including special packaging, a soundtrack CD, and more. You can see a picture of it below, along with an extended overview trailer that also reveals the inclusion of Philia and Strea as playable characters.
