Dragon Quest VII 3D Will have Entirely New Localization
And some additional features. 01.20.16 - 1:32 PM It's been a long time coming, but we're finally getting Dragon Quest VII and Dragon Quest VIII on Nintendo 3DS in the west. According to Nintendo, Dragon Quest VII: Fragment of the Forgotten Past will be "basically a new game," when it comes to localization and certain aspects of its design. All of the game's writing is entirely new, and there will no longer be random encounters, with enemies being visible on the world map a la Dragon Quest IX. This means the game will likely have a different feel than its original PS1 counterpart, but that's not entirely a bad thing! There will also be Streetpass features where you can gain tablets from other players and a story summary feature. Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past will be released this Summer in North America. Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King will follow later this year.
