Nobuo Uematsu Will Not Work on Final Fantasy VII Remake's Soundtrack
This is rather disappointing news.

There are a lot of reasons that Final Fantasy VII is beloved by so many, not the least of which is the iconic soundtrack. Who can forget such series mainstays as Aerith's Theme, or One-Winged Angel, or any number of other excellent tunes accompanying Cloud on his adventure?

Regrettably, it looks as though the original game's composer, the famed Nobuo Uematsu, will not be working on the highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII remake. When asked if he would be composing the remake's music in an interview, Uematsu replied "not at all." While this is no doubt disappointing for longtime fans of the series, Square Enix does have a multitude of other talented composers. Could Takeharu Ishimoto (who did the music for Crisis Core) or Masashi Hamauzu bring some new life to the music of Final Fantasy VII? Only time will tell.
