Classic GameArts Title Grandia II Coming to Steam
Based on the Dreamcast version, so you can exhale now. 05.13.15 - 2:25 AM Back in April, a survey was launched to see which classic GameArts titles players would like to see rereleased on Steam. It looks as though Dreamcast classic Grandia II will be the first (and hopefully not the last!) of these titles, courtesy of GungHo Online Entertainment America. Based on the original Dreamcast version released in 2000 (thankfully not the shoddy PS2 port), the Steam version of Grandia II will feature an HD visual upgrade, trading cards, achievements, and support for both mouse and keyboard and gamepads. "With the rise of digital downloads, it is especially important that classic games continue to remain available to play in some form," said GungHo president Jun Iwasaki, stating that Grandia II is an example of "how great JRPGs can be" and that demand for it's rerelease was "overwhelming". The game, for those who don't know, stars a mercenary named Ryudo who finds himself embroiled in a conflict between two ancient deities. There's no release date for the Steam version at this time. |
