BioWare Officially Cancels Shadow Realms
Does this mean it was banished to the Shadow Realm? Alright, no more Yu-gi-oh jokes, I promise. 02.11.15 - 4:13 PM BioWare Austin's co-op RPG Shadow Realms is no longer in the picture. The game, which was announced last August, was planned as a 4-versus-1 cooperative RPG in a modern setting, but has since been cancelled. A live-action trailer below indicates what BioWare had in mind for this particular project. According to Jeff Hickman, general manager for BioWare Austin, "While the team did amazing work on the game concept and we got lots of great feedback from our fans at events and through other game testing, right now there are other projects for the team to work on within the BioWare studios for the coming year and beyond. We've got an incredibly talented team here at the Austin studio, and they are excited and already deep on new projects within the BioWare family, ones that will make some great BioWare games even better." It's a shame that Shadow Realms will never see the light of day, but BioWare Austin will continue work on other BioWare projects including Dragon Age: Inquisition, the next Mass Effect, and Star Wars: The Old Republic. On the subject of The Old Republic, Hickman hinted that there would be some announcements related to the Star Wars MMORPG in the coming weeks. We'll keep you posted on any more developments.
