Publisher PQube announced today that visual novel Steins;Gate will soon be released for both the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Vita in North America and Europe.
The game, which saw a PC release earlier in March and has spawned an anime series and other merchandise, will be available in 2015. Players assume the role of self-proclaimed mad scientist Rintaro Okabe, who one day accidentally discovers time travel and finds himself unraveling a mystery. This is the most paraphrased synopsis I could come up with — you can read Greig's review of the PC release if you want to know more!
When questioned, PQube's Geraint Evans said that it was unclear as to whether or not the PS3/Vita version of Steins;Gate will use the same translation as the PC version, and that he was against the idea of digital-only releases. He also remarked that, "I donít want to imagine a world where there's no physical copy of Steins;Gate in my collection."
We'll keep you posted with new information as it becomes available.
