Publisher PQube announced today that visual novel Steins;Gate will soon be released for both the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Vita in North America and Europe.
The game, which saw a PC release earlier in March and has spawned an anime series and other merchandise, will be available in 2015. Players assume the role of self-proclaimed mad scientist Rintaro Okabe, who one day accidentally discovers time travel and finds himself unraveling a mystery. When questioned, PQube's Geraint Evans said that it was unclear as to whether or not the PS3/Vita version of Steins;Gate will use the same translation as the PC version, and that he was against the idea of digital-only releases. He also remarked that, "I don’t want to imagine a world where there's no physical copy of Steins;Gate in my collection."
