Square Enix continues to make your crossover fanfics into reality.

If you looked at Lightning in action while dressed up in Yuna's summoner garb and thought, "I'd like to see Lightning dress as another unlikely Final Fantasy character," you, sir or madam, are in luck. Square Enix has revealed that in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, our heroine will be able to dress as Midgar's favorite flower girl, Aerith (or Aeris) Gainsborough. The outfit's name is "Flower Vendor of Midgar," a slightly generic term similar to how the game's Cloud outfit is named "SOLDIER 1st Class."
Aerith and Lightning may have nothing in common in terms of personality, but fans of Final Fantasy VII will likely enjoy the reference nonetheless. Can Barret Tifa be far behind? In Japan, this outfit will only be available to those who purchase the Vjump guide book for the game. There's no word yet on if/how the outfit will be available to players in North America and Europe.
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII (PS3, Xbox 360) releases in Japan on November 21st, North America on February 11th, and in Europe on February 14th.
