According to Dengeki Playstation, GUST and Tecmo Koei are remaking Atelier Rorona for the PlayStation 3 and Vita, and is adding quite a bit in the way of improvements.

The character models have been improved to better reflect the original artwork, and is considered a new release rather than a "plus version" since everything is being developed by Tecmo Koei. One change to a particular character will surprise fans, according to the developers. Maps and backgrounds are also being modified, with some maps feeling too wide in the original.

Atelier Meruru's battle system is being used as a base, differing greatly from that of the original Rorona. One of those changes is the addition of finishing moves. Additionally, during the end-game, unexpected characters may join your party.

More additions include a time capsule, which will change one item to a completely different one; item cultivation, with a private garden to grow your own vegetables; and more trophies, battle characters, and costumes. Fans of the series that have save data for Atelier Totori Plus, Meruru Plus, Atelier Ayesha, or Atelier Escha & Logy will also be receiving something special, but no details are known. The cross-save feature is being implemented, allowing you to share saves between your PS3 and Vita.

There will be limited editions for both versions, with the PS3's receiving a crystal paperweight and controller sticker, and the Vita's with a mini-crystal paperweight and skin. New Atelier Rorona is set to release in November in Japan.
