Fans of sci-fi RPGs and BioWare who do not possess a capable PC or an Xbox 360 can rejoice, as today the PlayStation 3 version of Mass Effect 2 is now available for purchase via PSN or your favorite bricks'n'mortar retailer for $59.99 USD. Early adopters can also find their way onto PSN to download the Terminus Armor and M-490 Blackstorm Projector heavy weapon free of charge until February 23rd, which should remove some of the headache from battling those fiesty Collectors.

Mass Effect 2, which won RPGFan's 2010 Game of the Year award, features streamlined action RPG shooting mechanics, an involving conversation and morality system, and a downloadable digital comic that will fill in the blanks and allow players to make the major decisions from the original Mass Effect. The PS3 version also includes a large portion of the downloadable content from the 360/PC version, including the entire collection of add-on missions. Perhaps best of all, PlayStation 3 owners can now experience the impressive glory of Garrus, whose notable accomplishments include both being the best character and having the coolest nickname ever. We at RPGFan have two reviews of the Xbox 360 version and its DLC missions, so check those out if you're still on the fence about one of the best games of 2010.
