Final Fantasy XIV Free Trial Extended... Again
Eorzea hopes that you still have some patience left.
11.17.10 - 1:25 AM

Over the last few weeks, Square Enix has done a lot of apologizing for Final Fantasy XIV's less-than-stellar worldwide launch, and promising huge updates. Last month, they extended users' free trial periods by 30 days - and are now doing so again. This time, as long as you have an account and buy or have bought a character before November 19th (that's this Friday), after that date you'll get another 30 days automatically added to your trial period. You'll get the extra time even if you benefitted from last month's extension, but not if you've already cancelled your account.

As promised, Square Enix plans version updates both later this month (the 25th to be exact) and in December, as well as periodically in 2011. One of the most sought-after changes that will be addressed is the currently-unpopular user interface. Loading times will also be taken care of, notorious monsters will be added, you'll finally get an item search feature, and improvements will be made to the tutorials as well. But that's just scratching the surface. The complete list of planned changes is insanely long, so you can check it out for yourself.

Meanwhile, Weekly Famitsu is reporting that the MMORPG has been 'completely ported' to the PlayStation 3, so it looks like it's on track for the scheduled March release date.
