New Sacred Blaze Details Revealed
11.15.08 - 10:50 PM

New information on Flight-Plan's recently announced PlayStation 2 strategy RPG Sacred Blaze has become available, courtesy of Famitsuu. As previously revealed, the player takes on the role of God, guiding a group of heroes into the battle against the forces of evil. In fact, it is not only one group. The player can choose between two groups known as Law and Chaos Side. The former is a group led by a valiant prince, i.e. a classic RPG hero. The latter stars several "anti-heroes" led by princess Kiyora. Her country was wiped out by demons and now the young lady can only think of one thing: revenge. Other playable characters on the Chaos Side include the Gold Wolf Vilan, a mysterious man capable of transforming into a werewolf-like creature, the witch Shamana, a revived (Egyptian) queen called Manofika and the ringleader Tengai. All five characters are "masters", i.e. characters able to lead minor characters known as servants into battle. Servants on the Chaos side include Samurai, Dark Beasts, Fairies, Mummy Warriors and Ninjas.

Several support characters will appear regardless of which side the players has chosen. The "adventure trader" Kidam loves adventure and romance. Together with his Wingbird, he is very apt at locating treasures, disabling traps or spotting an enemy's weakness. Kattent is a member of the Bulcannus race. These rabbit-like creatures have a history longer than that of man and are very good powering up weapons. Kattent can also control robots in battle.

Sacred Blaze is set to hit Japanese retail store shelves on February 19th.
