Fligh-Plant Announces Sacred Blaze
11.05.08 - 12:44 PM

Flight-Plan, developers of the Summon Night series, Shining Force Feather and Poison Pink (Eternal Poison in the US), have announced a new original strategy RPG titled Sacred Blaze. The PlayStation 2-based game will be the Gifu prefecture-based company's second self-published title following 2007's critically acclaimed Dragon Shadow Spell.

In its newest title, Flight-Plan lets the player assume the role of none other than God himself. As God the player descends from his heavenly residence to give guidance to brave warriors on earth battling the forces of darkness. As God, the player is free to bestow new abilities upon his heroes and decide how to strengthen them as the game progresses. Thanks to the godly power of light, heroes will also have access to magic and deathblows. In Sacred Blaze the player's party is divided into two groups: masters, i.e. the heroes and variousservants. In addition to the normal set of commands, a master has access to so-called "master commands". These "master commands" include the summoning of a servant or raising the ability of servants standing nearby. The more servants a master has on his side in battle, the higher the bonus attached to his abilities will be. Up to seven masters and servants will apparently be able to team to unleash powerful combo attacks. And an arsenal of such potent offensive skills will be needed, given how your party's characters will be facing off against enemies several times their size.

The group of heroes will include the following characters: Alexid, a young and honest monarch leading the heroes into the battle against the forces of evil. Furthermore, the priestess and healer Milchrete, the elf Serpina, the monk Ramshin and the bard Tifelei.

Sacred Blaze will be available in Japan on February 19th for 6,800 yen ($68.73 USD).
