Kaeru B Back Media, More Info As announced a few days ago, the game division of publisher Kadokawa Shoten is working on a new Game Boy Advance RPG entitled Kaeru B Back (formerly tentatively spelled Kaeru Bibahk), to release on March 29th. The story starts in your typical small village. After the resurrection of a formerly sealed evil dragon, the main character, Tempo, start noticing the village is vanishing away. Tempo will then begin time traveling with his friends Minute the swordswoman and Second the magician to put the dragon back to its former sealed state. Actions in the past will be reflected by changes in the future; Tempo and his friends will thus have to leap through time, and strive to put right what once went wrong. In battle, the usual commands such as Attack, Item, and Flee are present but there's also a "frog attack" command. By selecting it, you can choose to summon one of the six frogs (Beast, Fly, Craft, Wood, Water, Spirit) that will lend you some special abilities, much like Magical Vacation's spirits. At first, the player can only use one frog but when reaching higher levels, up to three frogs can be used at the same time. Another strange feature of the game is the fact in conversation, you can reply the usual "yes" and "no", but also "hai hai" (which translates to "yes, okay!" in a slightly fed-up kind of meaning), when you don't feel like pursuing the conversation. Depending on what you choose, the characters' reactions will change. Kaeru B-Back is an original game developed by Kadokawa Shoten; it has nothing to do with Victor Interactive Software's PlayStation RPG Kaeru no Ehon (The Frog's Illustrated Book). Although some connections have been made between the two games, they're completely unrelated, other than sharing one word in their titles. The first few screen shots and some artwork for Kaeru B Back are available in our pics section. |
