It was a dark and stormy night. Lightning struck, thunder roared. A flock of crows scattered from the muddy ground in a panic frenzy. Somewhere, a wolf was howling at the moon. Something was happening. The world was about to change and henceforth would never be the same. On that fateful night a child was born... I, Krzysztof, was that child.

Unpronounceable for most, a name that shakes the very foundation of the universe when spoken out loud. Headed for greatness, bound for glory, destined to one day... review video games.

Okay, for all I know it could have been a regular day, and plenty of people can say my name just fine without anything shaking. Not much glory or greatness either but, as far as I'm concerned, I'm just getting rolling. Never mind, all minor details.

Here I am! Ready to put myself on the line and play through the good, the bad and the boring, then write about it for your entertainment.

I've been a gamer most of my life, falling in love with the media since my friend's dad brought home their first Atari. The only game I remember clearly from those days involved a little yellow "chicken." As a lad I always imagined there was more to that game than there actually was, with secrets abound and stories to be told. Years later I learned it was called "The New Zealand Story," and that my chicken protagonist was actually a kiwi. But I digress.

My adventure with JRPGs begun during the PlayStation era with a title some of you may already know called "Suikoden." I picked the game up, mistakenly thinking it was an action adventure similar to Zelda. No internet back in those days folks, just some obscure screenshots in gaming magazines to go by. "This guy only moves in four directions, that's going to be awkward while slashing monsters," the younger me pondered. Imagine my surprise when the screen swirled and I was treated to a turn based battle. Fear not, I'm not going to gush over my favorite game here (plenty of that on the forums), but from that moment on, I was hooked on the genre.

My bias clearly slants towards old school JRPGs. I prefer turn based combat rather than AI assisted action and look back fondly at the 16bit pixel art of days gone by. That's not to say I hate everything new. I just have a very soft spot for the classics. Suikoden, Terranigma, Zelda, Lufia, Chrono Trigger, these are just some of my favorites.

I'm also a big fan of point and click adventures, with Broken Sword taking the top spot on my list. Other genres I enjoy include FPS, RTS, MOBA, Metroid(vania), 2D and 3D platformers alike. The list goes on.

Reviewing is my prime function at RPGFan but don't be surprised if I show up on a stream or drop by a podcast. My goal is to inform and entertain, so if I put a smile on someone's face, it's a job well done.

Right, enough about me. Go catch some gaming news hot off the front page, listen to a podcast or browse the forums. Better yet, you might fancy reading a shiny review. Plenty to do, so why are you still here? Go on, get cracking :)
