Yakuza fans rejoice for The Dragon of Dojima is set to return to Yakuza 7: Like A Dragon, the latest iteration within the seminal Yakuza series. The confirmed cameo, featuring former longtime Yakuza protagonist Kazuma Kiryu, was unveiled within a ten-minute story trailer, released via the official Ryu ga Gotoku YouTube Channel, alongside a bevy of drama, explosions, and intrigue. Alongside the trailer, a demo for Yakuza 7: Like A Dragon is now available, nested on the PlayStation Store within Japan. The demo features new series protagonist Ichiban Kasuga, wandering the streets of Yokohama, battling baddies and giving a taste of the mystery and tone to be expected within a mainline Yakuza title.
As it stands, the Yakuza franchise looks to be booming in popularity, with traction in North America and Europe, and Yakuza 7: Like A Dragon looks to continue the series tradition of well-directed crime drama and off the wall goofery in spades. Yakuza 7: Like A Dragon is set to release in Japan on January 16th, 2020 for PlayStation 4 and sometime within 2020 across North America and Europe.
