A new trailer for Yakuza: Like a Dragon, known as Yakuza 7 in Japan, has debuted, properly introducing Western players to the upcoming release. Beyond protagonist Ichiban Kasuga, this trailer offers a first glimpse at leaders behind various warring factions fighting with the local Seiryu Clan for control of the streets in Yokohama's Isezaki Ijincho. From facing off against the Yokohama Liumang arm of the Chinese Mafia to assassination attempts by the Geomijul, lead by the stealthy Seong-Hui, Kasuga's return to the outside world will be anything but easy. You can take a look at the new footage for yourself in the trailer below.
Spotlighting the new combat system, which retains some action elements despite being mostly turn-based, the latest Japanese trailer for the game gives a brief look at the over-the-top Heat Action moves, as well as the battle-altering job system. Make friends, meet a few familiar faces, and find some work on the side to tear through your opponents! Relax between battles by enjoying some new and returning minigames including a new kart racing mode, called Dragon Kart, a minigame which tasks you with keeping a sleepy Kasuga awake in a movie theater, and much, much more.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon will release for PlayStation 4 in Japan on January 16th, 2020, with a Western launch planned for later in the year. Look forward to more exciting developments on this convention-breaking entry in the hit series as we near its release!
