Square Enix Unveils First Star Ocean First Departure: R's Screenshots
Remakes aplenty, like stars in the night sky.
Square Enix has unveiled the first screenshots for Star Ocean: First Departure R, an upcoming port of Star Ocean: First Departure, a 2007 remake of the original Star Ocean game. The game follows the adventures of a group of individuals from two locales: a planet known as Roak and an intergalactic fighting force known as the Terran Alliance, and the sacrifices, struggles and triumphs they find, by co-existing. Star Ocean: First Departure R will feature new recordings by the original Japanese Star Ocean cast, as well as character illustrations closer to the concept art of the original title, which can be switched with the remake designs at will.
As it stands, Star Ocean: First Departure holds a fairly special place in my heart, and I'm excited to see a port of it coming to the hands of people worldwide in the future.
Star Ocean: First Departure R is in development for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. No release date has been announced as of yet.
