New Pokemon Sword and Shield Trailer Introduces Dynamaxing, New Pokemon
Maximize your battles with rare and unique Gigantamax Pokemon! 07.08.19 - 9:58 PM A newly released trailer for Pokémon Sword and Shield has unveiled a new mechanic called Gigantamaxing, new Pokémon, and more which will bring even more excitement to your battles in the Galar region. You can check out the new trailer below to see all of the new reveals! Much like the previously revealed Dynamaxing feature, Gigantamaxing boosts your Pokémon's size, but it also changes their appearance, however, only certain Pokémon can Giagantamax. Newly discovered Pokémon in the Galar region, such as Dreadnaw, Corviknight, and Alcremie can all take advantage of this, with their appearances altering to match their giant state. Gigantamax Pokémon can use a unique G-Max move which will not be available to Dynamax Pokémon. Special Gigantamax Pokémon can be caught by participating in Max Raid Battles, but be warned, they're exceedingly rare! In addition to the Fairy-type Alcremie, this trailer introduces the Rock-type Rolycoly, the Steel/Dragon-type Duraludon, and gives a formal introduction to the Electric-type dog Pokémon, Yamper, which was first seen during Nintendo's E3 coverage of the game. Perhaps most interestingly, this new trailer showcases what may be Pokémon Sword and Shield's biggest version differences — version exclusive Gyms and Gym Leaders. While Pokémon Shield boasts a frightfully cool Ghost-type Gym with leader Allister, Pokémon Sword will host a Fighting-type Gym with its own leader, Bea. These differences will really set the versions apart, and in combination with version-exclusive Pokémon, will make each journey truly unique. That's all for now, Trainers, but be sure to stay tuned for more news! Pokémon Sword and Shield will release on Nintendo Switch on November 15th!
